Orange Shirt Day

All grade 5 students in Madame Sylvie’s class showed up to school today wearing an orange shirt to honour all First Nations children who attended residential schools. They quietly and respectfully watched a short video on the history of the Orange Shirt by the founder – Phillis Webstad. Afterwards, they engaged in an art project celebrating indigenous people and their beliefs. During the second period of French, they met their reading buddies in Grade 2 and were greeted with much anticipation and excitement.
